  •  A Nutrition Therapist DOES:

    Recognize we each have a unique constitution and health and wellness require eating a diet full of whole foods and plenty of fresh water, sunlight, exercise and rest.

    Coach and educate clients about different constitutions and tools to achieve and sustain optimal health such as a daily routine including nourishing foods, exercise and good sleep hygiene.

    Recognize when it is necessary to refer a client to his or her primary care physician for treatment and/or diagnosis.

     Empower clients to achieve and experience improved health and wellbeing through addressing any imbalances caused by improper nutrition, poor quality sleep, insufficient water, lack of supportive exercise, fresh air and relaxation.

    Educate clients to evaluate their lifestyle choices and to identify and change any potential causes of ill health.

     Create healthy environments, conduct educational activities and demonstrations and support clients to reach their personal wellness objectives.

     
  • A Nutrition Therapist Does NOT:

    Diagnose disease: without a medical degree and license to practice medicine, a nutrition therapist cannot and should not diagnose disease. The goal of the nutrition therapist is to educate their clients about whole body balance and empower them to apply this knowledge to their everyday lives.

     Prescribe drugs or pharmaceuticals: again, the focus of a nutrition therapist is education and empowerment. They teach clients about the benefits of foods, preparation of foods, herbs, spices, body oils, dietary supplements and healthy nutrition, but they do not prescribe anything.

    Perform invasive procedures or touch therapies: Only licensed professionals can perform hands-on therapies such as massage, traditional acupuncture, or other invasive procedures such as drawing blood and giving injections.

    Cure disease: A nutrition therapist does not focus on curing a client’s disease and never makes claims to ‘cure’ or ‘treat’ disease. The nutrition therapist focuses on nutrition, health and life to achieve a healthy balanced state, allowing the body to heal itself.

    I understand I am here to learn about whole body wellness and better health practices, and that I will be offered information about food, food supplements and herbs as a guide to general good health.

    I fully understand that those who counsel me are not medical doctors, and I am not here for a medical diagnostic purpose or treatment procedures.

    The services performed here at all times restricted to consultation on whole body wellness intended for maintenance of the best possible state of natural health and do not involve the diagnosing, treatment, or prescribing or remedies for disease.
